Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday condemned suspended Bharatiya Janata party spokesman Nupur Sharma and expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal for their alleged objectionable remarks on the prophet Muhammad.

Moreover, he urged Muslims to determine whether or not they are living by the teachings of the Quran. If young people don’t want to go towards their own destruction, they should stop playing video games, going to bars, drinking alcohol and behaving badly around girls and women, Owaisi said.

In Darussalam, Hyderabad, Owaisi addressed a rally at a public meeting titled ‘Jalsa Azmat-e-Mustafa’ organized by the United Muslim Action Committee. Notably, Owaisi leads the United Muslim Action Committee.

“I condemn Nupur Sharma’s remarks on the Prophet Muhammad. Thanks to Indian Muslims for their support… Nupur Sharma’s remarks are condemnable, and people ask me why I am in so much trouble. A co-passenger on a theft told me that I give Afterwards I was asked why we were so agitated I asked that if anyone spoke negatively about your mother, would you remain silent The Prophet’s wife is the mother of our mothers, how can we keep silent about her?” said Owaisi.

The AIMIM leader added that the Prophet said “we should pray to Allah and we do… The Prophet Muhammad was socially boycotted for three years by the people of Makkah. Did Adityanath become CJ of Allahabad HC? Owaisi on bulldozer action against Prayagraj’s ‘mastermind’ of violence

“The Prophet Muhammad is the heart of our Islam,” Owaisi said.

Hitting the BJP to ‘back up’ Nupur Sharma, Owaisi said they had asked the BJP as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action against Nupur Sharma but ‘he is not talking’. AIMIM filed a complaint in Hyderabad and an FIR was filed.

He further urged Telangana Police Commissioner and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to send police officers to Delhi and “bring ‘Mohatarama’ (Nupur Sharma)”, asking: “Isn’t it possible to take it with you?”

Speaking about the arrest of a 19-year-old man earlier this week, Owaisi said Akram Ali (a resident of Tetaria village below Khajni police station boundaries) was arrested for allegedly misrepresenting the photo of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, and removing it. He further mentioned the case of Brijesh Yadav from Ballia district who was allegedly arrested for sharing a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after 52 days of demonetization.

“You must arrest Nupur Sharma. If anything is said about PM Modi and UP CM Yogi, they will send these people to jail. Nupur Sharma has been heard by 20 million Muslims, and you don’t want to send him to jail,” Owaisi said.

Moreover, he asked the Prime Minister to contact his “childhood friend” Abbas i and ask him what Asaduddin Owaisi says. “If he comes, then he will affirm what Asaduddin is saying is true,” Owaisi said. Notably, the Prime Minister recently recalled his childhood friend Abbas and how his mother treated him like her own son. The Prime Minister recalled in a blog that Abbas is the son of a friend of his father.

“After his untimely death, my father brought his friend’s son, Abbas, to our home. He stayed with us and completed his education… My mother was as loving and caring for Abbas as she was for all of us, brothers and sisters. Every year on Eid day, she used to cook her favorite dishes. During festivals, it was common for neighborhood children to come to our house and enjoy their mother’s special preparations “wrote the Prime Minister.

Owaisi also mocked the ruling government’s campaign slogan, saying, “Acche din yeh hain ki you reduced the recruitment of the army, the navy and the air force to four years”.

“We want an action in line with the Constitution… In the next six to seven months, Nupur Sharma could become an important leader. In fact, Nupur Sharma could be selected as CM candidate from Delhi,” Owaisi said.

The head of AIMIM further questioned why Afreen Fatima’s residence in Prayagraj was demolished. “Why did you do this? It’s because his father organized a protest. The principles of natural justice form the basis of the Constitution. But who will decide? Only the court can decide whether he organized the protest or not The court will do justice and not punish his family.”

Javed Mohammad, the father of Afreen Fatima, is one of the main defendants in the Prayagraj violence which erupted following comments made by Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal about the Prophet Muhammad. On June 12, bulldozers demolished Afreen’s “illegally built house” in Prayagraj, where she lived with her family.

“Is this your justice? Owaisi asked.

He also took aim at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, saying that the Sangh Parivar had no role in India’s independence. “Our elders fought for our freedom,” Owaisi said.

“When we say something, they will say go to Pakistan, why do you love Pakistan so much,” the AIMIM leader asked.
