FRANKFURT, 20th October, 2022 (WAM) — The Muslim Council of Elders stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair is set to host a total of seven seminars tackling issues related to hate speech, extremism and ways to counter them as well than to propagate the values ​​of peace and coexistence.

The first seminar will be “Pluralism and Coexistence in Islamic Thought in the Light of the Document on Human Fraternity” with Abdelmalek Hibaoui, President of the German-Moroccan Council.

This will be followed by a seminar entitled “Coexistence between religions”, featuring Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah, researcher in the fields of religions, spiritualism and interreligious dialogue at the University of Tübingen, as well as a seminar entitled “Document on brotherhood Humanity – A Christian Arab Reading”, featuring Prof. Assaad Kattan, Professor of Orthodox Theology at Wilhelms-University Münster.

The fourth seminar, entitled “The question of the other”, will be led by Professor Jamal Al Deen bin Abdul Jalil, professor of religious foundations and religious education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education, followed by “Understanding the citizenship – in theory and in practice”, featuring Fiqh and Comparative Religion researcher at the University of Paderborn, Mohammed Abdul Raheem.

The final two seminars on the Council’s stand will be “Hate-speech against Religions – A Reading and Understanding”, featuring Dr. Yasser Suleiman, researcher in religious discourse at the University of Aachen, as well as ” Countering Racism – A Deeper Look”, featuring Abdul Samad Al Yazidi, General Secretary of the Central Muslim Council of Germany and Dr. Jürgen Miksch, Director of the Abrahamic Forum of Germany.

This will be the Council’s fourth appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which runs from October 19-23, 2022.
